From the beginning of 2012/13 season (from week 36/September of 2012 to week 35/August of 2013), isolations/detections of influenza virus AH3 was dominantly reported and the report increased from week 47 (November 19-25). After the New Year holidays, the report increased with a peak in weeks 2-4 of 2013 and decreased thereafter (Fig. 1). In the 2012/13 season, from week 36 (September 3-9, 2012) to week 10 (March 4-10, 2013), isolations/detections of AH1pdm09 from 70 cases in 28 prefectures, AH3 from 3,198 cases in 47 prefectures, B/Victoria lineage from 109 cases in 20 prefectures, B/Yamagata lineage from 175 cases in 30 prefectures and B/lineage not determined from 104 cases in 24 prefectures were reported (Fig. 2). |
During five weeks from week 5 to week 9 of 2013, isolations/detections of AH1pdm09 from 13 cases in 11 prefectures, AH3 from 784 cases in 36 prefectures, B/Victoria lineage from 39 cases in 12 prefectures, B/Yamagata lineage from 96 cases in 23 prefectures and B/lineage not determined from 60 cases in 15 prefectures were reported (Fig. 3).
