From the beginning of 2012/13 season (from week 36/September of 2012 to week 35/August of 2013), isolations/detections of influenza virus AH3 was dominantly reported and the report increased from week 47 (November 19-25) (Fig. 1). In the 2012/13 season, from week 36 (September 3-9, 2012) to week 2 (January 7-13, 2013), isolations/detections of AH1pdm09 from 25 cases in 12 prefectures, AH3 from 411 cases in 38 prefectures, B/Victoria lineage from 21 cases in 4 prefectures, B/Yamagata lineage from 12 cases in 4 prefectures and B/lineage not determined from 8 cases in 6 prefectures were reported (Fig. 2). |

During five weeks from week 48 to week 52 of 2012, isolations/detections of AH1pdm09 from 7 cases in 2 prefectures, AH3 from 251 cases in 32 prefectures, B/Victoria lineage from 14 cases in 4 prefectures, B/Yamagata lineage from 11 cases in 4 prefectures and B/lineage not determined from 6 cases in 5 prefectures were reported (Fig. 3).
