After week 19/2012, a small number of influenza virus isolations/detections was reported (Fig. 1). In Okinawa Prefecture, local outbreak of influenza continued in summer and detection of AH3 was dominant from week 26/2012.
In the beginning of 2012/13 season, from week 36 (September 3-9) to week 45 (November 5-11) of 2012, isolations/detections of AH1pdm09 from 8 cases in 3 prefectures, AH3 from 77 cases in 18 prefectures, B/Yamagata lineage from one case in Kanagawa Prefecture and B/lineage not determined from 3 cases in 2 prefectures were reported (Fig. 2). |

During five weeks from week 41 to week 45 of 2012, isolations/detections of AH3 from 13 cases in 7 prefectures, B/Yamagata lineage from one case in Kanagawa Prefecture and B/lineage not determined from 2 cases in Kochi Prefecture and one case in Tokyo Metropolitan were reported (Fig. 3).
