After week 19/2012, a small number of influenza virus isolations/detections was reported (Fig. 1). In okinawa Prefecture, local outbreak of influenza continued in summer and detection of AH3 was dominant from week 26/2012.
From week 19 (May 7-13) to week 37 (September 10-16) of 2012, isolations/detections of AH1pdm09 from 10 cases in 4 prefectures, AH3 from 120 cases in 26 prefectures, B/Victoria lineage from 28 cases in 14 prefectures, B/Yamagata lineage from 21 cases in 13 prefectures and B/lineage not determined from 39 cases in 10 prefectures were reported (Fig. 2). |

During five weeks from week 33 to week 37 of 2012, isolations/detections of AH3 from 39 cases in 11 prefectures, B/lineage not determined from one case in Okinawa Prefecture were reported (Fig. 3).
